linuxthreads problem introduced between 2.2.1 and 2.2.2

I guess I should have elaborated more...

Every single make check in the linuxthreads/ add-on segfaults when trying
to ld.  I didn't notice any other problems.

This happens on two 2.4.2 linux-from-scratch systems, one desktop and one
laptop, and glibc 2.2.1 works fine on both sytems.

I'm compiling with
--enable-shared --enable-kernel=2.4.0 --disable-profile --enable-add-ons

what can I do to help isolate the problem?
