Hello,
If anyone can help me to compile glibc2 I would be grateful. I have carefully followed instructions and successfully installed all the components required to install glibc2: binutils-2.10.1 texinfo-3.12f make-3.79 sed-3.02 gettext-0.10.35 gcc-2.95.13 bash-2.0 autoconf-1.12 all of these items installed and tested perfectly. Then I configure glibc-2.2.2 and then; However the results of make are as follows: In file included from ../libio/libio.h:63, from ../libio/iolibio.h:1, from ../libio/libioP.h:36, from strfmon.c:28, ../sysdeps/generic/bits/stdio-lock.h:29: #error libio needs recursive mutexes for IO_MTSAFE_IO make[2]:***[/usr/src/glibc-2.2.2/compile/stdlib/strfmon.o] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory '/usr/src/glibc-2.2.2/stdlib' make[1]:***[stdlib/subdir_lib] Error 2 make[1]: Leavong directory '/usr/src/glibc-2.2.2' make: *** [all] Error 2 Since I am not a C++ coder this is fairly obtuse and I cannot find a reference to this particular error anywhere. Any assistance would be gratefully recieved. Running Linux 2.0.27 on an intel box - no other real problems. NOTE: I just wanted to use mysql for web pages and needed to compile mysql locally to achieve this. Otherwise I am happy with my box. David |
