glibc for mips-linux

Hi,

I wanted to know if glibc (or libpthread in particular) is supported for
mips linux (I am using linux 2.4.2). Is is supported for any other mips
(64 bit preferably, but 32 bit might also be ok)? How much effort it will
be to port the library to mips? What problems might we run into if we
decide to port it to mips? I am currently working with version 2.1.3 of
glibc.
