Hello ,

We are trying to install tomcat on a cobalt server. This cobalt server is running on Apache web server. Cobalt has its own web based administration tool working under Apache.

We have installed tomcat 4.0 by editing files: httpd.conf(of apache) and server.xml(of tomcat). Now the tomcat is working on the server and JSP is functioning properly. However the apache server is not starting so the
cobalt administration tools is not functioning.

Apache is giving the following error message when "httpd" is called.

Syntax error on line 65 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load /etc/httpd/modules/mod_webapp.so into server: /lib/libc.so.6:  version `GLIBC_2.2' not found (required by /etc/httpd/modules/mod_webapp.so)

I am attaching files for your reference.

1)httpd.conf
2)server.xml

If i install the current version of GNU libc, version 2.2.4, can we overcome the problem? Is there any risk installing the version 2.2.4 in cobalt?

Looking forward to get help from your end.

Regards

Roy Valsalan
