GLIBC Upgrade Problem |

Greetings,
I am currently using Slackware Linux Version 7.1 (with Linux kernel
version 2.2.16),
Recently I attempted a partial upgrade from glibc-2.1.3 to glibc-2.2.3,
by installing just shared libraries from glibc-2.2.3 (I realize now that
this was not a good idea).
Well ever since I have done this, I have been having trouble getting
programs to compile. Whenever I attempt a compilation the following
error occurs: "undefined reference to `atexit`" (and other similar
errors).
In my attempts to fix this problem, I came across an FAQ for GLIBC on
gnu.org's website. In the FAQ the following question was posed:
" I get "undefined reference to `atexit`" "
And the following response given:
"This means that your installation is somehow broken. The situation is
the same as for 'stat', 'fstat', etc (see question 2.7). Investigate
why the linker does not pick up libc_nonshared.a."
So, How exactly does one "Investigate why the linker does not pick up
libc_nonshared.a"?
