glibc-2.2.5 make check failure

I am attempting to install glibc-2.2.5 and i have run into some problems. The run of 'make check' fails on one of the tests and i do not know how to fix the problem.
This is the message i get when it terminates:

make[2]: Entering directory '/LinuxDD/glibc-2.2.5/intl'
/bin/sh -e tst-gettext.sh /LinuxDD/glibc-build/ /LinuxDD/glibc-build/intl/ \

make[2]: *** [/LinuxDD/glibc-build/intl/tst-gettext.out] Error 134

make[1]: *** [intl/tests] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory '/LinuxDD/glibc-2.2.5'
make: *** [check] Error 2

The versions of the support software i have downloaded and installed are as follows:
    binutils-2.11.2
    gettext-0.11.5
    make-3.79.1
    perl-5.6.1

GCC is version 2.95.2 on my machine.

If there is any way you can help me, it would be greatly appreciated.
