Compilation problems with 2.3

Hi!
I'm having severe promblems with the compilation. I'm not a c-programmer,
so I can't really diagnose or fix this myself. Im also no native speaker
of english, so I hope you excuse my bad writing.
The problem is include/ctypes.h. When make has come to
iconv/iconv_charset, where ctypes.h is included, it complains that none of
the three functions (right?) in ctypes.h are defined. __b_yada_toupper,
__b_yada_tolower _yada_yada_loc, that is. Commenting them all out in
ctypes.h, lets me go through the whole compilation process, until the last
link time, when it finds out that there are unresolved references to the
three problemsome functions.

Im using gcc 3.2.1, binutils 2.9.5.0.42 and the system is an otherwise
unaltered Slakware 7.1.

Also, configure resuses to find linuxthreads,
"--enable-add-ons=linuxthreads" do not work.

I'm not on any glibc-list, so I'd very much appreciate you cc-ing
everything to me at address@hidden, as this account has been behaving
rather strange the last few days.

Thank you very much!
