Dear friends,
I'm not a big Linux expert so I need your help in understanding something.
I am a physicist and usually I analyze data. I needed to install GnomeDb
in order to interface to an Oracle database. The GnomeDB installation
failed because glibc-2.3.2 was needed. glibc-2.3.2 installation also
failed because I needed a gcc version > 2.96 ( I work on a RedHat 7.3).
So I installed the last gcc available. Everything was fine and gcc was
installed under /usr/local. Then I tried to install glibc-2.3.2 but again
the configure does not see the newly installed gcc but only the older one.
It is probably a stupid problem but I did not find any help on the gnu web
site. Probably this is not the correct mailing-list to contact but in the
huge list I did not find something better.
Thanks for your help
