Hi,
First of all i apologise, if i have wasted ur time .
I am trying to install glibc in my mandrake 9.1 machine. I downloaded glibc-2.3.2 from gnu and tarred it , build a specific build directory glib-build as per the instructions written in INSTALL.

First I configured it using
./configure --enable-add-ons=linuxthreads --prefix=/usr

Now when i make it using make , the sytem gives the following error message.

ibc/stdlib/system.o
In file included from ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/i386/system.c:50:

make[1]: Leaving directory `/mnt/mylinux/usr/src/glibc-2.3.2'
make: *** [all] Error 2

How will i rectify it . Please help. I am trying to develop a linux box from source. ( i tried lfs , it's ok but this is an experiment i have taken by myself) .

Can u please help....

For kind Indormation:
Steps I have taken to develop the system the source
1. Create a Linux Partition (native)
2. Created file system and the FHS complaint directories
2. Make devices
4. Installed kernel
5. Installed Lilo

Now i need to install Sysvinit , so i need glibc and that's the reson i need to load glibc . I neither chroorted to the build system but instead working in the same system by adding a user to issue the commnads and save myself from un-authorised building errors.
In the source system, everything binutils , gcc , bash is there.
