regarding thread debugging

Hi,

I am using glibc-v2.2.5 with gdb-v5.3

I have rebuilt the gdb-v5.3 and try to use with existing
libraries of libc.so.6 and libpthread.so.0. When i use simple
thread program and put breakpoint in thread function, it doesnot
stop and prints error message "Could't get registers: Operation not
permitted"

Does linux threads library requires any additional setting
to use with newly built gdb?

Any pointers in this will be helpful
