it seems that SIGFPE is not raised by default (at
least on i386/Linux system and you advice to use
fenv.h functions.
Trying to write this piece of code, it seems that
these functions don't work too well - see also

I saw your name on different sources, so I took the
liberty for writing to you directly.
Would it be possible for you to confirm that INDEED
there is something wrong with these functions. Also,
is there any other way of changing the default
behaviour of SIGFPE handling ?
