Problem: Build glibc-2.3.4.tar.gz with rh9

Hi, all

 I am a beginner. When I build glibc-2.3.4.tar.gz, I
met with a problem.
 I can't find out what's wrong. 

I get the source code from
http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/glibc/glibc-2.3.4.tar.gz
,extra source code in /src/gnu/glibc-2.3.4, and mkdir
/src/gnu/glibc-build

Then I try to build:
../glibc-2.3/configure
cd ../glibc-2.3.4
make
  
but wrong:

Makeconfig:84: sysdeps/../config.make: No such file or
directory
Makerules:598: no file name for `include'
The GNU C library has not been configured.
Run `configure' to configure it before building.
Try `configure --help' for more details.


Can anybody give a help? Thanks in advance!
