GLibc-2.3.6 breaks Libc-5 application (WordPerfect 8.1 for Linux

I upgraded BinUtils to 2.16.1 and GLibc to 2.3.6 and now WordPerfect 8.1 for Linux doesn't work -- crashes on startup.

address@hidden wpbin]# ldd ./xwp
        libm.so.5 => /usr/i486-linux-libc5/lib/libm.so.5 (0xb7f82000)
        libc.so.5 => /usr/i486-linux-libc5/lib/libc.so.5 (0xb7eaa000)

I have these two libraries installed from the FM RPM:

        libc-5.4.44-1glibc.i386.rpm

I ran GDB and I get:

Starting program: /usr/lib/wp8/wpbin/xwp

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
0xb7e92ad6 in __libc_free (mem=0x868b0ec) from /usr/i486-linux-libc5/lib/libc.so.5

This worked OK with GLibc 2.3.5 and BinUtils 2.15.

Is this a bug?
