Hi, I wrote a tool to catch memory leak, overruns, underruns, double
free, and invalid free. But I was wondering that all over the world, hundreds
of thousands of man-hours are lost every year to resolve memory leaks/overruns,
etc. Why can’t the malloc and free of glibc be fixed once
and for all so that hundreds of thousands of hours can be used to develop some
other applications. Definitely, it will be costly to introduce so many things in
a running system, so malloc/free can provide the extra features as DEBUG
options. I know of DMALLOC, and malloc hooks but they are not satisfactory. Regards, Amit |
