About using GMP

Dear sir,
  I think I have installed the GMP successfully because "make check" is OK.
Some functions of GMP such as mpf_init, mpz_fac_ui can be called correctly. But
other functions like mpf_get_default_prec() and gmp_printf() can not work
properly. The error prompt is "error while loading shared libraries: ./a.out:
undefined symbol: __gmpf_get_default_prec". I compiled my own source code using
"gcc x.c -lgmp" and my computer is red hat linux V7.1. How I can resolve this
problem? Thanks!
