| You are only asked about this once per directory; thereafter, Emacs
| saves automatically when you kill the session (assuming that you did

| That doesn't seem like a good idea: some people keep a separate
| desktop file in each directory, using them like kind of project
| files. This is also the reason why suggesting the buffer's default
| directory is not such a preposterous idea after all.

Has my proposal been implemented in the Emacs 21, or taken into
consideration, where a centralized control for all configuration files
were possible? Having aneed to configure each package separately
is not the best idea, especially when they store file directly
under $HOME/.something. It would be more polite to have a prefix
for all files, which user could then chnage (e.g due to version control).
