(This bug report unfortunately got no response at the time.)
I can reproduce this bug in Emacs 26.1, but not in Emacs 28, so it seems
like this has been fixed... or, rather, it's changed:

It's marking both lines. Which... is... perhaps reasonable?
Any opinions?
