That's an idea but how can we create a temporary directory to set into
EMACS_ELN_PATH from the build system?

I was thinking more to an env far to check for to replace the

(equal (getenv "HOME") "/nonexistent")

we have in `normal-top-level' with:

(getenv "TESTSUITE_RUN")
