(I'm going through old bug reports that unfortunately weren't resolved
at the time.)
Skimming this thread, it looked like the bug might have been due to
too-deep recursion in GC. This was fixed recently in Emacs 29 -- the GC
no longer recurses (as much).
Do you still see this crash in recent Emacs versions?
