(native-compile #'foo)

Never worked AFAIR, the functionality you added was:

(defun foo () "foo doc string"
       (lambda () "lambda doc string" 3))

(subr-native-elisp-p (funcall (native-compile 'foo)))

And this still works for me.

I'm probably missing something sorry.
