I see now that the descriptives dialog was checked in on Oct 6,
but the most recent snapshot was generated on Oct 2.

So, I've generated a new, up-to-date snapshot. You can download
it from ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/pspp/pspp-2007.11.04.tar.gz

If this one still doesn't have Descriptives, after running "make
install", then there's something wrong.

I don't think that the GUI has a debugging mode. Perhaps John
Darrington will speak up. As the author of the GUI, he will know
for sure.
