Follow-up Comment #2, bug #25101 (project pspp):
oh, well, it's nice to see that you are aware that the current implementation
"looks/behaves messy".
I did notice that, visually, the whole "widgets popping up in cells and
flickering a lot in the process" thing looked a bit crude (in my "user" eyes).
I just didn't report it because I thought I would not be very useful on
providing a solution :), but I'd be delighted if one day this was solved too.
That also brings me to a corollary question: why do widgets have to "pop out"
of cells when the user clicks on them? Is it for extreme space saving reasons
or something like that?
I wonder about the idea of the entire sheet being a gtk listview with widgets
inside it. Wouldn't that be easier /and/ cleaner? (I have no idea, personally)
just curious.
