Details:

When the file has been modified but not saved, a * should be shown in the
titlebar (at least that's what I saw other applications doing), and when you
saved succesfully, "Saved." should appear for a few seconds in the statusbar
(to indicate that the ctrl-S shortcut actually worked, for example :) and then
disappear.
