Details:

(MingW based) PSPP 0.6.1, OS Windows XP Service Pack 3.

In PSPPire when entering a date, directly into a date formatted cell in Data
View, an error will appear for each number or deliminator pressed until a
complete valid date is entered.

For example, entering the date 1-2-1900 I get an error after entering '1'
("data file warning: (DATE field) Delimiter expected between fields in date.
data file warning: (DATE field) Delimiter expected between fields in date.")

After entering '-'
("data file warning: (DATE field) Unrecognized month format. Months may be
specified as Arabic or Roman numerals or as at least 3 letters of their
English names.
data file warning: (DATE field) Unrecognized month format. Months may be
specified as Arabic or Roman numerals or as at least 3 letters of their
English names.")

After entering '2'
("data file warning: (DATE field) Delimiter expected between fields in date.
data file warning: (DATE field) Delimiter expected between fields in date.")

After entering '-'
("data file warning: (DATE field) Syntax error in date field.
data file warning: (DATE field) Syntax error in date field.")

After entering '1'
No Error

After entering '9'
No Error

After entering '0'
("data file warning: (DATE field) Date 0190-2-1 is before the earliest
acceptable date of 1582-10-15.
data file warning: (DATE field) Date 0190-2-1 is before the earliest
acceptable date of 1582-10-15.")

After entering '0'
No Error.

I now have a valid date entered.

Kind regards

Joe Cook.
