Details:

An windows user send my two files. The first one was created and filled on
SPSS. She opens this file on PSPP, filled some more cases and then save it.

Now it just doesn't opens neither on PSPP or SPSS. She is using PSPP 0.7.2,
made from master branch on 2009-05-18.

Is there a way to figure out what happens and recovery the file for her?
