Details:

Say you create a variable in a new dataset (say numeric). Now there should be
no data in it. Then on row 5 or whatever row (except first 1) put in any
number. Expected behaviour is to have the computer generate that value +make
all records before generate active rows which have value sysmis.

Same goes for columns. You should be able to tick on three columns away from
currenty column and add a value and new variables should be added starting
from vAR00001 to VAR000....
