Follow-up Comment #1, bug #34773 (project pspp):
I can confirm these for WindowsXP.
The problem is already present in the versions from August 2011. I don't know
when it started.
It looks as if PSPPIRE tries to open the first file of the directory. If this
is again a directory you get an error with permission denied.
I am not able at the moment to check if this happens on linux too or if it is
a mswindows issue. But I guess it is a generic issue.
