Details:

It would be nice, if PSPPIRE could 

automatically create new cases and variables, 
then 
   number of existing cases/variables 
   is lower than 
   data rows/columns in clipboard.

PSPPIRE could even determinate type of data: if data is text, treat new
variable as text (don't ignore data - treating it as not compatible with
numeric data format).

For example, at the begining there is now variables and cases;
I copy data from LibreOffice/OpenOffice Calc or MS Office Excel;
now I can paste data only if I add sufficient number of cases and variables.
