PSPP-BUG: [bug #52035] sheet: Only the cell in the first column of the f

Subject: PSPP-BUG: [bug #52035] sheet: Only the cell in the first column of the first empty row is editable and can create a new Case

Follow-up Comment #2, bug #52035 (project pspp):

I agree, that an arbitrary place in the sheet is not o.k. but the
pre-sheet-widget version behaves different:

old: A new value in any column of the first row after the last case creates a
new case.
There were no further rows visible after the last case, except for this one
empty row.

new: Only a new value in the FIRST column of the first row after the last case
creates a new case. Endless number of empty rows are visible.

I think that the previous behavior is preferable because you can by gui design
not even see cells which you cannot click but an edit in the last empty row
creates a new case.

The same is true for columns. Here it is maybe even more obvious that adding a
new value for any case in the next empty column should create a new variable.
To see more empty columns than the one which is editable is misleading.

So as you say it would be bad design to have an edit possible at an arbitrary
place in the empty sheet to create new cases / variables but from my
perspective the previous gui design was already ideal. -> No cells visible
that you cannot edit. An edit in the visible empty cells creates a new case or
a new variable.
