which windows version you use?

Yes, no undo key is there.

When I do this in the data view of version 1.6.0 on MacOS, then the case is 
selected. With right-click, I can delete the case.
In the variable view, the variable is selected and I can delete the variable 
via right-click.

Yes, an invalid name is replaced by a generated valid name.
