tar extraction behavior concerning symlinks

Hi,

tar behaves strangely wrt symlinks. It overwrites them, instead of
following them. I had originally filed a bug report with RedHat, please
see http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=10641.

If this is the correct POSIX behavior, then the documentation at
http://www.gnu.org/manual/tar/html_mono/tar.html#SEC62 needs to be
updated to reflect this.

(I personally liked the old way this worked, but who am I to argue with
POSIX? ;-)
