I've got a tar archive where the current directory "." is a part
of the archive:
> tar tzvf ~/spice3f5sbins.tar.gz
drwxr-xr-x root/root 0 1998-04-15 07:18 ./
drwxr-xr-x root/root 0 1998-04-15 07:15 spice3f5/
drwxr-xr-x root/root 0 1998-04-15 05:35 spice3f5/conf/
...
when I extract this archive with "tar xzf" everything works fine.
If I use the option --keep-old-files with gtar 1.12 it works.
If I use the option --keep-old-files with gtar 1.13.17, it doesn't:
> tar xzkf ~/spice3f5sbins.tar.gz
tar: .: Cannot mkdir: File exists
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
