Tar 1.13.17

Hi,

This tar version 1.13.17 Compiles under NCR MP-RAS (svr4).
In contrary to other versions.

However:

gmake[2]: Entering directory `/users/home/seth/src/tar-1.13.17/tests'
===============================================
Regression testing for GNU tar, version 1.13.17
===============================================
PASS: version.sh
PASS: ignfail.sh
FAIL: extrac01.sh
FAIL: extrac02.sh
FAIL: extrac03.sh
FAIL: old.sh
FAIL: volume.sh
PASS: gzip.sh
FAIL: append.sh
FAIL: delete01.sh
PASS: incremen.sh
====================
7 of 11 tests failed
====================

This is somewhat annoying :-)
Extracting gnu tarbals works fine indeed. However when I tried to build a
archive for backing our source directory's (twice a day keeps the actual
backup tape away ;-)

I am not quite sure what is wrong.
gnu gzip works
bzip2 also works

It's just gnu tar that barfs. The tar that came with the system is slightly
crud.
Excluding (globbing) patterns doesn't work, it doesn't compress on the same
commandline.

etc etc...

Any idea where to send the bug-report?

Kind regards
Seth Mos
