cpio-2.4.2 compilation problems

I encountered several problems building cpio-2.4.2. I am running 
linux-2.2.17, glibc-2.1.3 and gcc 2.95.2. The errors I received were mostly 
due to the source files re-declaring things  unconditionally, that were 
already declared in some standard header file. The *.diff files attached show 
the fixes I had to apply to make the build process work. The base name of 
every diff file corresponds to the source file causing the error. I also 
attach a couple of log files (*.err) showing the error messages I received 
before fixing the broken files.
