Linux egrep - bug ??

Hello together,

here is what seems to be a bug with Linux - egrep:

until dec-22-2000 the following line worked, 
submitted under "Linux xxxxxxx 2.2.13":


rsh <hostname> ps -ef | egrep "secured|socser"


The target is Solaris 5.6 .
But today the same command suddenly doesn't produce
any output at all !!

Using the same line on a Solaris machine instead, it works!


The question: a new bug, or a temporary Xmas evocation?
