GNU gettext suggestion

Hi,

I've reading the gettext documentation and I found it really hard to
follow. My suggestion is to present a complete example. Let me propose
this:

1. Select a piece of short code with its main() function and some
message printed to the terminal. Mention this  as the 'non
internationalized' version

2. Next listing would be the modification needed for using xgettext.

3. Next figure would be the po file.

4. Next figure would be the translated file, 

and so on...
