The gettext-0.10.35 m4 macros were missing a LIBS="$LIBS -lintl"
statement, and binutils-2.11 still uses that.
A workaround for you on Solaris (only Solaris users are affected) is
to configure binutils with --disable-nls.
The real fix will be that binutils be upgraded to use gettext-0.10.38.
