American Peace Flags

A web site, http://peaceflags.org , is 
offering American peace flags -- Betsy Ross style 
flags with the 50 stars in the shape of a peace 
symbol.  It is a means for people to show 
patriotism without apparently showing support for 
war, something many flag bearers in this country 
have been conflicted about. So many Americans 
following the attacks have wanted to express 
sadness and show solidarity -- as Katha Pollitt 
wrote in last week's "Nation Magazine", the 
American flag is the only available symbol -- but 
have worried that waving a flag means joining in 
on the cries for retaliatory bloodshed.  There
