powerpc-eabi-ld: BFD 2.12 assertion fail

Hi

I have an 32bit elf object file that ld chokes on.
I configured binutils for powerpc-eabi.
The object file is created by the diab powerpc compiler.
I'm not attaching it here as I'm not sure this list likes
to receive attachments, let me know whom to send it to.

Binutils version is 2.12.
The error message before segfault is:
powerpc-eabi-ld: BFD 2.12 assertion fail

I'm running on redhat linux 7.2.
