gunzipping problem

Hi,

First, let me thank you for the time.

I have a problem unzipping a file using "gunzip". It was zipped using the
"gzip" program. The file size was slightly more than 14 GB. We get the
following outputs...

#gunzip -v File.DMP.gz
File.DMP.gz:
gunzip: File.DMP.gz: invalid compressed data--length error

#uname -a
OSF1 bsds1 V4.0 878 alpha

#gzip -V
gzip 1.2.4 (18 Aug 93)
Compilation options:
DIRENT UTIME STDC_HEADERS HAVE_UNISTD_H
