gzip: stdout: No space left on device

Hello Sir,

        We are using a Linux bootable CD on Alpha servers, on which sits
a compressed utility to  flash drive firmwares. We
have built an iso image and burnt it onto a CD. After booting from the
CD, we are getting messages on the console:
"gzip: stdout: No space left on device"
"gzip: Unable to decompress xxxx......."

Could anyone help us out in getting rid of this issue ?

We are not able to use the compressed utility for the purpose it was
developed.
