I need to produce archives that are compressed but also known to be valid.
The manual suggests that I can use --compare, after "forcing some doubt in
your operating system" to defeat the cache.
Is there a recommended way of doing this without requiring a human to eject
and reload the tape?
We are using HP DAT8 DDS2 tapes on Debian GNU/Linux 2.4.
