Unfortunately, this is a known issue, but no solution yet.

The best way is perhaps to ignore the failing test and install version 2.5.

Or you might try the development version 2.5.1, currently available
only from CVS.  Search the Free Software Directory in www.gnu.org
for more information.  I've also found this:
  cvs -z3 -d:pserver:address@hidden:/cvs co grep
