(GNU sysadmin - the address address@hidden does not work, although
it is advertised in the free software directory and within the
program; if nothing else, could you make it an alias for bug-gnu-utils
+ the author, Thomas Esken, please?)
I suggest the following minor changes to gcal.texi (relative to 3.01) to
change the category in the Texinfo dir file -- I've been trying to
rationalize these categories per rms's suggestions to use the Free
Software Directory where possible. (The different indentations are to
make the entries align with others in that category.)
Also, the frontmatter should be changed to use @copying and the GNU free
documentation license -- this patch doesn't do those things. See
http://texinfo.org/manual/Document-Permissions.html
http://texinfo.org/manual/GNU-Sample-Texts.html
for information and an example of recommended frontmatter for GNU manuals.
Also, there are some errors creating the gcal doc with the current
texinfo, for instance:
gcal.texi:3: Can't create directory
`/usr/local/gnu/src/gcal-3.01/doc/de/gcal.html': File exists, but is not a
directory.
(I'm not sure why this needs to be rebuilt anyway, as it's in the
distribution; all I said was configure && make.)
...
Creating distribution Info files `./en/gcal.info*'
Please wait...
perl converts all accent characters of `./en/texi/gcal.texi' ...
gcal.texi:81: Unmatched address@hidden'.
makeinfo: Removing output file `gcal.info' due to errors; use --force to
preserve.
Both of these errors occured several times.
Let me know if questions or problems.
Thanks,
karl (Texinfo maintainer)
