Hi!
Okay, okay I am an absolute UNIX beginner. I am working on an Apple
Macintosh using Mac OS X 10.2.5.
I wanted to archive and bzip2 a folder containing lots of text files.
"gnutar -c -y -f artweb01_jap.tar art\ Web01\ jap"
When I enter the -j or -y option, I always get the message from guntar:
gnutar: invalid option -- y
Try `gnutar --help' for more information.
The display of the help option does not state anything about the -y or -j
options, but the man file does.
My version is:
tar (GNU tar) 1.13
Is there a difference between an older gnutar version and a newer man file?
Thanx for your patience
ML
