That would be second-best, in my opinion. "Smarter" filters
invariably make mistakes, either false positives or false negatives.
As things stand, I'm already filtering out messages from bug-gnu-utils
with a "smarter" (but buggy) filter, and I'm sure I've missed some
real bug reports. I'd much rather see a human volunteer do the
filtering. (Not that I'm volunteering!)

Perhaps mailman can be configured to allow mail from known senders,
even if they're not subscribers. That would be nice.
