Dear Developer.

I found an Bug related to the Macro-Function regexp. It seems, that the size of the String this Macro has to parse, is the Reason for an 'Error matching regular expression' - Warning. The exactly output if I started the test.m4 (contained in the report.tgz-attachment) is:

#!/usr/bin/m4
- hallo1
- hallo2
-
./test.m4:6: /home/crazy/dev/debian-source/m4-1.4.1/src/m4: Error matching regular expression "\(- \)(\(\([^y]\|y\)*\)\()$\)"

The Problem occured on the Debian-Bin-Package for the M4 Version 1.4.1-1; I tried also an selfcompiled version of M4 1.4.1-1 and the Problem kept existing.

Regards, Frank Schwidom.
