well, my GNU/Linux system has GNU diffutils 2.8.1 and, indeed, the
message generated by ``cmp --help'' doesn't mention exit codes.
(The man page is genereated from that by help2man.)
But the diffutils-2.8.7 package from alpha.gnu.org has this fixed
(I checked both the help message and the man page).
The issue will thus be fixed in the next stable release.
