I believe I have discovered a bug in the "find" utility version
4.2.10. I was trying to use it in Cygwin kernel version 1.5.12,
Windows XP SP1, on the /proc/registry file system. It does not
traverse all directories and usually stops after printing "xxx is not
a directory". version 4.1.7 works perfectly.
Below is the email I originally sent to the Cygwin support list
server. The entire thread can be found at

I don't know if this has been reported before or not but find does not
traverse the directories under /proc/registry correctly. It works fine
on the processes under /proc themselves but not the /proc/registry
subdirectory.
$ find /proc/registry
/proc/registry
/proc/registry/HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
/proc/registry/HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/*
/proc/registry/HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/*/OpenWithList
/proc/registry/HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/*/shellex
/proc/registry/HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/*/InfoTip
/proc/registry/HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/*/QuickTip
/proc/registry/HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/*/AlwaysShowExt
/proc/registry/HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/*/TileInfo
find: /proc/registry/HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/*: Is a directory
I'm using Cygwin on Windows XP SP1. Here are the versions of XP Cygwin
