I agree.  I said that FSF sysadmins now answer mail and do easy tasks quickly.

But this is a bigger change, so it doesn't fall into the above.
I think you should mail to ftp-upload and ask them to remove the obsolete
files.  I wouldn't hurt anyway.

And Jim answered that the new ftp-upload will have such a feature.

I don't think this is an ugly solution.  Depends on one's taste.
